Car Detailing The Proper Way

  • Car Detailing the proper way
  • Wash & Drying(Weekly)
This step removes all the loose dirt and debris from the exterior of the car. This also includes wheels & wheel wells. Maintaining a clean finish will help prolong your wax or sealant on your paint.
    * Use a Quick Detailer in between washing to maintain a freshly washed look.
  • Claybar(Every 3-6 months or whenever your surfaces start to feel gritty depends on the surrounding envirornment)
This step removes embedded contaminates that normal washing can’t remove and will leave the surface of the paint silky smooth.
  • Polish(1-2 times a year, again depending on use.)
This step removes imperfections in the paint (swirls, water marks, bird etching, etc.) and brings back the shine & depth to the paint.
  • Wax and/or Sealant(Every 2-6 months depending on driving conditions durability depends on product used and environmental conditions)
This step is your protection for your paint, it will also add gloss and wetness to the paint. Different sealants can give different levels of gloss
  • Polish and/or apply a Wheel Sealant to clean and protect wheels(Protect every 2-3 months Polish when needed)
This step will help prevent brake dust and road grime from adhering to the surface of the wheels making them easier to clean.
  • Clean or polish all chrome or aluminum(As needed)
  • Dress all tires, wheel wells and trim(Weekly or Twice a month)
  • Clean Windows and Door jambs(Weekly or when needed)

Why does my 1982 datsun pickup kills when I stop with it in gear?

Posted by Lexus Fast | Datsun | Saturday 18 December 2010 12:57 pm

johnpf87
It is an automatic transmission, and sometimes it runs great, but other times when I stop and hold my foot on the brake with it in any gear other than neutral or park, it sputters and dies. Any ideas as to why this happens?

Why does brake warning light on Datsun B210 stay on for a period, then go off?

Posted by Lexus Fast | Datsun | Monday 13 December 2010 2:07 am

twincitiestekwrytr
Brake warning light on dash of Datsun B210 stays on for a few minutes after braking, then goes off. Last night I discovered that all the brake lights (rear of car) were on when car was parked, and off! When I stepped on the brake pedal, the rear brake lights all went off.

I replaced front brakes 3,000 miles ago, brake fluid level is OK, and there are no other indications of a problem with braking system.

When driving, almost every time I step on the brake, the dashboard warning light comes on and stays on for varying periods up to 5-10 minutes, then goes off. Rear brake lights staying on with car parked and ignition off is a new (but probably related) problem that has developed recently. Any ideas, suggestions, or insights will be appreciated.
Thanks
Replaced sensor switch on brake pedal. That is working fine. Master cylinder if full, and there does not seem to be any sponginess or pedal creep that might indicate air in the lines.
For the past several days, the brake lights have been on (sporadically) while the car is stopped, ignition off. Checking the brake pedal switch indicates the sensor/plunger/switch is in the depressed position (breaking the circuit). A light tap on the brake pedal (during which the brake pedal switch appears to function normally, activating brake lights, then breaking the circuit.

I have a 1970 Datsun 1600 pickup truck that has been sitting for 10 years. It was my brother’s who died and have kept it and trying to rebuild it. I know it needs an engine and electrical work but I need to know about the engine first. What kind of engine can I put in it? Any info would be appreciated….

How difficult would it be to change a Datsun Z transmission?

Posted by Lexus Fast | Datsun | Sunday 5 December 2010 7:13 am

Dom
I am looking at buying a rust free, L28ET 1975 Datsun with the T-5 transmission in it but the problem is the transmission grinds a lot in 3rd and 4th gear pretty badly. I want to buy a car I can fix up but I am not so sure about starting off my new car by changing the transmission.

Since I can’t find the answer anywhere else on the internet, how difficult and how long would it take to change the transmission to a working, non grinding one?

Comment please!

I am planning on buying a project datsun 1972 240z and restoring it an possibly doing a v8 conversion. I am going to install a roll cage and possibly a front collision cage. I have heard that a 240z has terrible build quality but i am not sure if it is true, is it?

Tell us what you think!
